Further to my message the other day, Jack Johnson’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 25th May as follows
The Church Service will be held at 1.15pm at:-
St Peter’s Church
Sunderland Road
South Shields
NE34 6NG
From A19 (North or South) take A194 toward South Shields, then at roundabout take A1300 (John Reid Road)
At about 3rd roundabout (with A1018) take 3rd exit to Prince Edward Drive.
At next roundabout turn left on to Sunderland Road (northwards).
St Peter’s Church is on the left almost at the junction of Sunderland Road & Marsden Road and is opposite 2 public houses - ‘The Old Ship Inn’ & ‘The Vigilant’.
I am not sure what the parking facilities are like in this area.
The service will be followed by an interment ceremony at:-
South Tyneside Crematorium
John Reid Road
South Shields
NE34 9DT
The Crematorium is on the A1300 (John Reid Road) between its junction with the A194 and the B1298. When travelling from direction of the A194 the Crematorium is situated to the right after the first mini roundabout. The car park is to the right immediately after the gates and there is also a lay-by outside the premises for those travelling from a South Shields direction as parking can be difficult inside the gates.
