Entries for NCPF Annual Competitions

The entry for these competitions will close next Thursday (MARCH 5TH)

These are basically individual competitions but the Club also chooses from the pictures supplied to compete in the club section. With this in mind, please try not to neglect monochrome entries – we always seem to be struggling to get a good number to choose from.

Basic entry rules, Open Competition:

Detailed rules are on the notice board and on the Society website (Blog).

Up to 4 prints in Mono
Up to 4 prints in Colour
Up to 4 projected images (N.B. slides and digital images in 1 section)

Beginners’ competition:

Please remember to label your pictures “Beginners”
Up to 2 prints (mono/colour)
Up to 2 projected images
(Those entering the beginners’ competition may put additional pictures into the open competition so long as the maximum of 4 pictures per section is not exceded)
Please ensure that both the title and your name are included on prints and slides.

Digital image size and titling:

The size of images is as for club competitions (1024x768, max 900 kB)

The final titling, as required by the NCPF, is quite awkward. It will be sufficient if you name digital images with the title and your name as shown below (I will alter the titles to fit the requirements)

Jim Bloggs enters a picture called “At Rest” – he should title it

At_Rest_JBloggs

Digital entries can be given to me on CD at the club, or you can email them to me at

jagrabham@googlemail.com

(Note this is not the email address for me in the programme – the old address is now defunct)

Our annual presentation evening took place on Friday 30th January at the Bowburn Hall Hotel. The guest of honour was John Smith AFIAP,APAGB president of the NCPF. After we all had enjoyed an excellent three course meal John had us in stitches with his observations of camera clubs and their characters. Then it was down to the presentations of the awards for last years competitions.

David Trout outlined the dedication and hard work carried out by Brian Wilcockson and Tony Griffiths before he announced the recipient of the Vice Presidents award…… Malcolm Thurman.
The evening was rounded off with the raffle, the only unclaimed prize was the toilet roll. I wonder where that came from. Thanks to Roger and all the members who donated the prizes including the toilet roll.

Many thanks to John Smith who helped to make it such an enjoyable evening and congratulations to all of the award winners.
