In Shooting the Hollywood Stars, Rankin, the portrait and fashion photographer, takes time out from his work in Los Angeles for a diverting exercise of particular interest to cinema fans and portrait photographers. He describes the changing role of photography in the early days of the movie business and, helped by stylists and actors, re-creates some of Hollywood’s most iconic images. The programme was shown on BBC 2, 8th January and now available to view on BBC i-Player.
