COMPETITION COUNTDOWN

The closing date for 1st Progress Prints is next week, 27th January. There will be no extension! This is due to Print Competition Secretary Alan Stott needing time to process the prints into digital projection format for the enhanced enjoyment of the members on results night. In the Print Progress competitions members can enter 3 prints either in the A or the B sections and it is important to label the back of your entry correctly. This is the first of three Progress competitions during the year. The winners are the ones with the most points at the end of the year awarded by the judges. It’s (one of) the big ones!

Please check the rules in your programme carefully including General Competition Rules.

ANNUAL PRESENTATION DINNER

Friday 28th January, Bowburn Hall Hotel. Last chance pay for this great night out is next week. Part of the evening is a raffle with prizes donated by the members. Bring them in on the night.

VOLUNTEERING NEWS – THE BIG SOCIETY

THE BIG dps SOCIETY, that is …

The new system of the interval refreshments break being run entirely by volunteer members (rather than by people being asked to do it) was off to a great start. Put your name down soon! Everything hinges on people coming forward. No-one will be cajoled, persuaded etc.

There is another opportunity – to join the Blogger team as compiler of the Hot Dates feature of this Blog. See separate posting.

If you have an idea, or special skill you’d like to contribute to the Big dps Society please email or speak to John Attle and Tony Griffiths.

CONGRATULATIONS!

To members Paul and Sarah Travis on the birth of their baby recently. Also to new Grandad, also a member, Les Travis who had one of his great pictures on Tyne Tees TV weather on Monday night.
