News: Beamish ‘Tog Night just announced

Saturday 1st September, 6.00 to 9.00 p.m. Power from the Past

Beamish the Living Museum of the North extends this exclusive, out of hours offer to photographers for a fee of £10 per person to cover operational and running costs for the evening. Groups buying 10 tickets get an eleventh free. This is a ticket-only event. Pre-booking to confirm your place is essential as tickets are limited to just 200. Telephone 0191 370 4000 to book.

On the evening, many vintage transport exhibits will be in operation. The following star attractions are confirmed: locomotives SHDC No. 18 “Lewin” and Peckett No. 1163 “Whitehead” in operation at the Colliery Railway. Tram 196 in South Shields Livery and Gateshead 10 in GNI 26 (British Railway Green) on the Edwardian Town Street. 1923 LNER Y7 (68088) and NER H Class (1310) as static displays at Rowley Station. Costumed demonstrators will be on hand with the period transport giving you an exclusive opportunity to photograph these scenes without the usual crowds. A period bus service will run regularly to transport photographers between locations.
