NEWS REPORT – MEDIA STORM AROUND JOYCE HEDLEY!

Durham Photographic Society members have long known fellow member Joyce Hedley as an accomplished and successful photographer and digital worker. That Joyce, now 81, only took up photography at the age of 70, never having used a computer or digital SLR camera before, proved to be of great public interest following her exhibition, Autumn, at Clayport Library in Durham. With articles in several newspapers and a news item on BBC Radio Newcastle, now Joyce’s story can be seen on the BBC Wear website:

Joyce acknowledges the encouragement and support of fellow member and friend, Ruth Thornton who has been a film, and now top end digital SLR, worker for many years and the help of Mavis Ord, George Holland and others in all things Photoshop. To paraphrase Tony Benn’s father, she has entered “A blaze of Autumn Sunshine” and cannot imagine life without photography.
