EXTERNAL COMPETITION SELECTORS

To correct a wrong impression given in a previous Blog, the Society actually has two teams of selectors who decide which images go forward to represent the Society in competitions such as the recent PAGB GB Cup and NCPF Club Championship:

Joe Grabham, Don Bennett and John Brown for Prints.

David Trout, Colin Armitstead and Malcolm Thurman for Projected Images.

The way they work is to scrutinise the entries in all our DPS competitions making a note of which images they think would do well at inter-club level. It helps to jog the memory that these days we have digital copies of competition prints. When it comes to selection time, External Competition Secretary, Joe Grabham, puts out a general request for top flight pictures and individual members are approached re specific images.

They then meet to make their final selection, bearing in mind competition rules and chances of high scores. During the NCPF Club Championship they also make tactical decisions on selections for the second round depending on how well we have done in the first.

Joe can answer any queries: email details in our programme.
