CLUB NIGHT NEWS 22.4.10

NORTHERN COUNTIES PHOTOGRAPHIC FEDERATION COMPETITIONS

The President, David Trout, congratulated the many members who achieved individual success which led to the Society doing well in the club competitions. The top six most highly scored entries going on to represent each club. In the monochrome print section, for instance, we were only one mark behind the winning club, Dumfries CC. Full details are on www.ncpf.org or follow the link on previous postings on this Blog.

2nd PROGRESS PRINTS

There is a short extension of the closing date to next Monday if you can get your prints to Alan Clarke who lives in Pity Me (contact details on this website and in your programme).

REMINDER THE DPS BOTANIC GARDENS EXHIBITION – FOLIO 2010

Now on and looking good! It is in the café area which is free to enter. Please take a look and, while you are there, why not enjoy the spring-time botanic gardens. There is a small charge to visit the extensive gardens themselves.

ASSIGNMENT GROUP VISIT TO WEARDALE Saturday 17th April

Another successful and enjoyable event! The debrief, looking at the resulting pictures, will be Tuesday 4th May, 7.00 pm County Hall. The next visit will be to Tanfield – details to follow.

GOTHS FESTIVAL

Many members will be off to Whitby this weekend! If you cannot make it, make sure you catch the DPS Portraits exhibition (on until 30th April) at the Town Hall Entrance gallery which features Goths (as well as Wartime Weekend portraits).

THE MUSIC FACTORY

A final call for anyone wishing to take part in this interesting and challenging photography project. Please contact Alan Stott for more information: a.stott@boltblue.com

CLUB NIGHT 29th APRIL

Garry Courtney from Hartlepool CC is showing pictures under the title, “Hometown Hartlepool”. Members will remember seeing last year Garry’s outstanding documentary prints of the fading seaside town of Seaton Carew. Hartlepool as you’ve never seen it before is guaranteed! Of particular interest to the assignment group who took on the challenge of Hartlepool earlier this year.

CLUB NIGHT MAY 6th – ELECTION DAY

Our usual meeting place becomes a Polling Station so we will meet instead at County Hall in the Council Chamber. NOTE: earlier time of 6.30 to 9 pm.
