News: Olympic Torch raises money for Hospice

Olympic Torch bearer, Ken Allday, who is a fund-raising ambassador for St Cuthbert’s Hospice in Durham, bought along his Olympic torch to the Hospice’s summer Picnic in the Park on Saturday. He spent the whole time chatting to the visitors and staff who could have their picture taken with the torch for a modest sum in aid of the Hospice. Durham PS member David Langley was on hand to take the pictures and a considerable sum was raised. David also volunteers his photographic expertise and his time to the Butterwick Hospice in his home town of Bishop Auckland. David said, “It’s a great way to meet wonderful people and practice your photography at the same time”.
