Olympic Torch Relay comes to Town!

The Olympic Flame is in the region now and comes to Durham City 16th and 17th June. See previous Blogs for details. Why not enter the DCC Olympic Torch Relay photographic competition on Facebook? Please also send a few pictures capturing the events to Tony G or John A for a Blog compilation. Annual Exhibition Durham Cathedral to 17th June

Last chance to see! Sunday 17th is the final day of our fabulous exhibition in this World Heritage Site setting. The take-down will be early on Monday 18th. Volunteers welcome.

Town Hall Exhibition

Still on, with an exhibition of Trio competition entries (portraits, Durham) and a panel of Durham Regatta pictures, at the Town Hall entrance gallery. Following on there will be updated displays during the rest of June and July reflecting topical Durham life such as the Regatta, Brass festival and Miners’ Gala. If you have an ace print of the Olympic Torch Relay that too can be shown.

Assignment Redcar Races

Won’t be long now! Saturday 23rd June. It’s Ladies Day and the first Race is 2.15 pm. Gates open at 12 noon. http://www.redcarracing.co.uk/fixtures/ladies-day

Members Night June 28th, Print and PDI Knockout

Another popular night. Simply bring along up to 4 prints maximum size A4 including any mount. Up to 4 digital images can also be entered in the PDI section. NB maximum width must be 1024 pixels, maximum height 768 pixels (not as previously stated) and sRGB colour space. You can bring in on memory stick on the night or email to Roger. NB Must be new work previously unseen at the club or in Photo Forums etc

Members Night 12th July

One of the most eagerly awaited nights of the year! Presentations by fellow members showing and talking about their work. All members are invited to also bring along Blurb.com or Apple self-published photography books.

COMPETITIONS REVIEW – HAVE YOUR SAY

David Trout, who chaired the Competition Review group for the committee, has announced a major change in the way we organise our competitions. This includes the opportunity for members to influence the subjects of the six Trio competitions which can now change each year. Have your say by completing the Competitions pro-forma at the club.

Ever helpful, Help Desk is providing a notice board for members to post “For Sale”, “Equipment Wanted” notices, Help requests etc
