Dateline Saturday 18th June.
Well over 800 women of all ages from teenagers to seniors, all with a story to tell, assembled for this annual fundraising, sponsored 10K walk near County Hall. Illuminated bunny ears, pink tiaras, pink official T-shirt to die for, all accessorised as only the spirited women of Co Durham can, including Lady Gaga’s galore. With circus entertainer, disco warm up and North East Legend Denise Robertson to send them on their way with inspiring words, it is safe to say a really good time was had by all and a great deal of money was raised.
The intrepid participants were supported by large numbers of St Cuthbert’s volunteers who turned out to do the registration, stewarding and giving out the medals and goodies.
