ASSIGNMENT TEESDALE!
Saturday 18th June meeting in the Bowlees visitor centre and picnic area car park (Gibson’s Cave and Low Force are nearby) at 10.00 a.m moving to Middleton-in-Teesdale for lunch at 1.00. Extra challenge on the day – “Moss or lichen”. It will be a great day out come rain or come shine!
NCPF MEMBERS’ BEAMISH WEEKEND - !8th, 19th and 20th June
Saturday 18th clashes with the Assignment day so Sunday 19th is the better option (day of the vintage car reliability run and extended opening 9.00 am to 6.00 pm for DPS and other NCPF club members. Monday 20th is another option with less visitors. There will be an NCPF Beamish Trophy competition for the best picture taken over the weekend and the best competition prints will be exhibited at the event next year.
DPS ANNUAL EXHIBITION
There is still space for more members to take part. Simply bring in your two mounted prints (see previous blogs for more details).
Write your title and name on the back clearly and legibly to avoid inadvertent mistakes in the print labelling.
A team including Colin Armitstead, Don Bennett, John Attle and Dennis Hardingham will leap into action and do the pre-exhibition work. Other members can volunteer to help in setting up and stewarding later on.
KNOCKOUT COMPETITION June 30th
Up to 4 prints no bigger than A4 including mount and 4 digital images (usual competition size) per member. The images must be previously unseen at the club. You can email digital images to Roger from now (preferred) or bring in on the night on a memory stick along with your 4 prints.
MEMBERS NIGHT 7th July – Themes and Variations
More members needed! A ten to 15 minute presentation, simply showing some recent work and talking about it is all that is required. Does not have to be competition pictures. For instance, you may have been working on a project or theme. To register your interest, speak to Paul Ritchie and sign up. There is a list on the notice board.
VOLUNTEERS FOR PHOTOGRAPHY NIGHT IN THE CATHEDRAL
This annual photography in the cathedral event for the paying public will be 25th July. Durham Photographic Society will be providing six members experienced in photographing the interior of the cathedral to assist the public. Speak to organiser John Attle if you would like to take part.
PHOTOGRAPHIC WORKSHOPS
Killhope Museum are hosting 2 photography workshops and would like to invite members of the Durham Photographic Society to come along (details attached in flyer). a PDF copy can be down loaded here LINK
The workshops are being held in our fantastic new Mongolian yurt which promises a unique experience.
