Saturday 18th June 2011
Meeting at 10.00 am in the Bowlees Picnic Area car park which is on the B6297 from Middleton in Teesdale.
Early birds will be out and about in the glorious Teesdale countryside much earlier of course but the plan is we all meet up at the designated time and place. From here there is a short walk to the magical Gibson’s Cave and waterfall. The path can be slippery in places so it’s a good idea to wear walking boots - waterproof if you’re planning on getting into the river to get your shots!
In the other direction, across the road, can be found a path through meadows to the river Tees, Wynch Bridge and Low Force. On the 18th you may come across a group of artists between 1.00 and 4.30 pm doing their thing along the river!
At this time of year the meadows are in flower
Lunch will be in the Teesdale Hotel, Market Place, Middleton in Teesdale at around 1.00 pm. Parking in the streets is free
All members are welcome to join in. Contact Colin Armitstead for more details.
