Yes, the Great North Steam Fair attracted thousands of visitors to Beamish Museum over the weekend but on the evening of Saturday 16th of April, 200 photographers had the place to themselves. Many were from photography clubs, including a large contingent from Durham PS, who thoroughly enjoyed the unique photography opportunities and the conviviality of the company of fellow photographers on what was a very pleasant evening with beautiful light.
It is to be hoped that the special, after hours night for photographers was a success for the Museum also and that this will become an annual event.
Meantime, there is the NCPF Beamish Members’ Weekend (18th, 19th, 20th June} to look forward to.
