CLUB NIGHT NEWS 31.3.11

CLUB NIGHT MAY 5th

Will be in County Hall because of Referendum polling in St Oswald’s hall.

ASSIGNMENT RICHMOND REVIEW

Wednesday April 20th. 7.00 pm at County Hall. 4 prints for discussion and 8 images for the Assignment Gallery. The latter can be emailed to David Forster ahead of time. Well done Tom Heslop who’s Assignment Banks of the Tyne picture appeared full page in Olympus User magazine.

2nd PROGRESS PRINTS

Closing date is April 21st, with no extension possible. Alan is asking for digital files (for projection on the night) also. Print labels are available as before.

AV NIGHT 28th July

Following brilliant AV presentations by our Alnwick visitors, more people will be inspired to have a go. Mavis Ord is the organiser so speak to her for more details. If planning to take part on the night please put your name down ASAP. There will be a picturestoexe demo at the Digital night, 1st June.

BEAMISH GREAT NORTH STEAM FAIR

Photographers night 16th April: Demand is high for this evening and this is a ticket only event. Pre-booking to confirm your place is essential, tickets are limited to just 200.  Telephone 0191 370 4036 to book.

On the evening, many vintage transport exhibits will be in operation with a full list to be announced nearer the time.  The following star attractions are confirmed:

  • 1923 LNER Y7 (68088) engine in steam at Rowley Station.
  • 1871 Head Wrightson 'Coffee Pot No.1' and 1877 Fletcher Jennings engine 'Baxter' in operation at the Colliery Railway.
  • Heaton Park's 1914 built Manchester Corporation Tram No.765 on the Edwardian Town Street.

Costumed demonstrators will be on hand with steam locomotives, trams, traction engines and period transport giving you an exclusive opportunity to photograph these scenes without the usual crowds - a chance not to be missed!

A period bus service will run regularly to transport photographers to and from each location.
