The NCPF is running an event in conjunction with Beamish Museum which will take place over the weekend 18/19/20 June.
Over this weekend members of NCPF clubs and their families can take advantage of reduced admission fees on production of an NCPF pass that we can provide nearer the time.
There will be the usual photographic opportunities at the Museum but as well as this there will be a classic car event, the Beamish Reliability Run, on the Sunday. Here, photographers can use their passes to gain entry to the Museum before and after normal opening times. As well as the actual 150-mile Run, there will be a static display of pre-1956 vehicles.
There will be a competition for pictures taken at the Museum over the weekend. The closing date is the beginning of August. This will be judged at Washington Camera Club in October and the winner gets to hold the new Beamish Trophy for a Year.
In addition, over the weekend there will be a Selling Exhibition of pictures from NCPF clubs. Each club can enter up to ten prints which should have a “Northern” theme. These will be offered for sale at £30 – Beamish would take £7.50 commission; the rest going to the photographer.
Time is short for anyone thinking of putting a picture into the Selling Exhibition – we’ll need them by next week, 19th May! They should be on 20”x16” mounts; name and club on the back and the NCPF suggest a signature/initials on the front of the mount just below the bottom right of the actual print. We are putting a limit of one print per member on this. Please don’t forget the “Northern theme” and the fact that we can only enter ten pictures.
