Location News: Fields of Silver

Wild flower meadows Low Burnhall

Situated on the western edge of this Woodland Trust woodland area bordering the A167. From the Cock of the North roundabout heading south the first lay by is right next to the meadows. Last year, featuring ox-eye daisies, cornflowers and poppies, it was a big draw for photographers including our own Joanne Gray.

This year a large area of cow parsley has appeared just starting to go to seed, inter-sown with purple thistle. What a prospect for macro and nature photographers, let alone a remarkable location for environmental portraits. This shot was taken at dusk yesterday.
