News: DPS Exhibition now on at Botanic Garden

Durham Photographic Society’s latest exhibition of prints is now on in the cafe of Durham University Botanic Garden. The exhibition is on until March 30^th and the Garden is open from 10.00 a.m each day. Entrance to the cafe is free and there is a small charge to go into the beautiful Garden itself.

A small army of volunteers made short work of hanging the framed prints. Exhibition organiser Don Bennett DPAGB, who is an Hon Life Vice President of the Society, said, “There has been a good relationship between ourselves and Botanic Garden for many years and we are very pleased to be back, this time for a longer period. 48 members of the Society have prints on show and there is a wonderful diversity of images. I hope visitors enjoy both the photography and the Garden”

The A section is for experienced photographers and the B is for the less experienced. This was the first of three stages during the year. The placings attract points: 2 for a highly Commended to 10 for 1st place. The winners of the trophies are the ones with most points at the end.

Durham University Botanic Garden Exhibition, 3^rd to 30^th March

Setting up is from 9.00 am Saturday 3^rd. Come along if you would like to help out

Trio Print Competition

Closing date is next Thursday, 8th March. Up to 6 entries per member across the three competitions (check the rules carefully!). Provide digital versions to Alan for projection on the results night.

AV Night 26^th July

This is a members’ night organised by Mavis Ord. Any member can take part and show a digital audio visual presentation. There will be a list on the board to put your name down. Aim for 2.5 to 3 minutes each. It takes time to produce your masterpiece so start soon! Technical support and advice is available whether PC or Mac.

NCPF Club Championship
