We are looking for volunteers to help out with this new venture at the Cathedral.

Calling all hobby photographers!
Usually there are restrictions on photography in the Cathedral.
But we appreciate that there are those who would welcome the
opportunity to spend a summer's evening testing their skill in
capturing the essence of this wonderful building.
But we appreciate that there are those who would welcome the
opportunity to spend a summer's evening testing their skill in
capturing the essence of this wonderful building.
Therefore, we are holding a photographic evening from 6.30 to
9.00pm on Wednesday 17 June. The Cathedral will be open only
for photography and members of the Durham Photographic Society
will be on hand to help and advise. This sacred space is not that easy
to capture in images, even with the increasingly sophisticated digital
cameras but those with simple 'point and snap' cameras are also more
than welcome.
There will be a charge of £5.00 per camera. Tickets will be
available in advance from the Information Desk in the Cathedral
or at the door on the night.
Flash photography is not permitted but tripods are welcome as
long as no-one trips over them!
This is the first time we have welcomed hobby photographers
as a group to the Cathedral. Let's hope for a glorious summer
evening when the Cathedral not only looks its best but should be
bathed in light seldom seen by the public.
Any enquiries concerning the Photographic Evening itself, obtaining
tickets etc should be made to the Chapter Office on 0191 386 4266 or
